Obverse: impressed by Helvetia - a female Swiss personification featuring wrapped hair and a flower wreath on its shoulders, the Swiss Alps are seen on its back. The word "HELVETIA" is minted at the top of the coin, which in Latin is also the name of the country of Switzerland, and at the left side is the coin's engraver's name "F. LANDRY".
Reverse: the reverse depicts the radiating Swiss coat of arms - Cross, the denomination of the coin "10 FR", and slightly below the coin minting year. In the bottom of the coin is depicted the Swiss national flower - Edelweiss and the letter "B", which is the mintmark of the Berne Mint.
