Obverse: the 2008 Chinese gold coin depicts a Panda with a cub. The weight of the coin, the gold marking, and the fineness "1/20 oz Au .999" is engraved on the left side. Value "20 Yuan" is depicted below.
Reverse: the Temple of Paradise is depicted in Beijing, with the inscription "中华人民共和国" (People's Republic of China) inscribed on the edge of the coin above it, the year of mintage "2008" at the bottom.
About the coin: this is the most popular Chinese investment collector coin for investors, collectors, and jewelers. The coin is minted from pure .999 gold. The Chinese Golden Panda was first minted by the Central Bank of China in 1983 and introduced as a legal tender. For the first three years of mintage, this coin had a limited circulation of 10,000 pieces. per year. This coin changes its design every year, only in 2002. the design did not change and was used in 2001. This coin is minted in three Chinese mints, namely Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Shenyang. However, in contrast to the mints' practices in other countries, mintmarks are not minted on such coins. Instead, different mints make small design differences between their minted coins, such as font size, bamboo forest size, and minimal design differences for the Temple of Paradise.
