Obverse: a bust of President Antanas Smetona with a legend around it: 'PRESIDENT OF THE STATE A.SMETONA * 10 LITAS 10 *'.
Reverse: the reverse of the coin depicts the Pillars of Gediminas, below which is the inscription 'LIETUVA', followed by the jubilee year '1918-1938', around which is the legend: 'DVIDEŠIMT METŲ NEPRIKLAUSOMYBĖS *XX*'.
Edge: Engraved inscription 'THE POWER OF THE NATION * IN UNITY * *'.
About the coin: this is the first commemorative coin and the last inter-war Lithuanian coin commemorating the 20th anniversary of Lithuanian independence. The popularity of the coin reached unprecedented heights and an additional mintage of 180,000 pieces was issued. However, although the mintage of these coins was considerable, many of them were destroyed by the Soviet occupation of Lithuania. Today, this coin is therefore quite rare and highly prized by collectors.
