Obverse: depicts the symbol of Mongolia, the Soyombo, which includes abstract and geometric images of fire, sun, moon, earth, water and the taijitu or yin-yang symbol. The year of issue is engraved at the bottom of the coin. The name of the country 'MONGOΛУΛС' (Mongolia) is embossed on the outer ring.
Reverse: Two wolves on rocks. The outer ring of the coin bears the inscription 'ENDANGERED WILDLIFE' and the denomination '250 TӨГГРӨГ' (250 Tugrik).
