This polished cephalopod fossil slab is an exceptional natural history specimen from Morocco, approximately 370 million years old. It contains preserved Orthoceras fossils – the remains of straight, elongated shells divided into separate chambers that belonged to extinct cephalopods inhabiting Devonian seas.
Several elongated fossils can be seen in the slab, standing out clearly against the dark grey and black stone matrix. The carefully polished front surface reveals the outlines of the shell chambers, their internal structure, and contrasting white, grey, and black mineral patterns. The naturally rough edges preserve the authentic character of the rock and create a striking contrast with the glossy surface.
This fossil slab makes an impressive addition to a palaeontology or mineral collection, a distinctive interior accent, or a meaningful gift for anyone interested in geology and natural history. Each specimen is unique, so its shape, fossil arrangement, colours, and mineral inclusions may vary. Natural veins, small cracks, cavities, and uneven edges are features of its natural origin rather than product defects.
