Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts Jack Robinson. The coin shows his name 'JACKIE ROBINSON' on the top. The year of issue '1997' is embossed on the left and the motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST' on the right. The bottom of the coin reads 'LIBERTY'.
Reverse: shows a baseball with the inscription 'Legacy of courage' and Robinson's birth and death dates '1919-1972'. The coin bears the name of the country of origin 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' at the top and the denomination 'FIVE DOLLARS' at the bottom.
About the coin: This gold coin commemorates the 50th anniversary of the first black baseball player to be inducted into the major league team.
