Obverse: the coin features the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania Vytis in the centre of the obverse. The centre of the coin has the coat of arms at the centre and the year of issue below it, symmetrically with the vertical axis of the coin. The name of the country 'LIETUVA' is engraved in the upper part of the coin, in a semicircle around the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania. The edge of the coin is surrounded by a border, the inner side of which is smooth.
Reverse: the coin is struck with the denomination '5' in the centre of the reverse, symmetrically with the coin's vertical axis, followed by the inscription 'LITAI'. The outer ring of the coin features an ornament of three groups of striped hoops. The edge of the coin is surrounded by a border, the inner side of which is smooth.
Edge: 'PENKI LITAI' repeated twice, with the insertion of a distinctive badge.
About the coin: the design of the coin was created by Antanas Žukauskas. The artist of the adapted Knight - Arvydas KaŞdailis. Coins of this design were first minted in 1998 and were last issued in 2014, on the occasion of Lithuania's adoption of the euro.
