Reverse: the centre of the coin shows a red kangaroo surrounded by sunlight, the largest of all kangaroos. The coin is engraved with the name 'AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO', the year of minting, the weight and the metal name '2023 1 oz 9999 SILVER' at the bottom. The coin is unique in its engraving, the first letter "K" of the word "KANGAROO" is engraved with a micro letter "A" which serves as authentication, this letter is only visible through a microscope or a very high magnifying glass.
Obverse: The obverse of the coin features a new design of Queen Elizabeth II (Australia is a constitutional monarchy under which Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is also Queen of Australia). The coin is engraved with the words 'ELIZABETH II', the year of her reign '1952-2022' and the name of the country 'AUSTRALIA', with the denomination '1 DOLLAR' at the bottom. The initials of the designer of the coin, IRB (Ian Rank - Broadley), are engraved below the image of the Queen.
