About the coin: this is the first commemorative coin and the last inter-war Lithuanian coin commemorating the 20th anniversary of Lithuanian independence. The popularity of the coin reached unprecedented heights and an additional mintage of 180,000 pieces was issued. However, although the mintage of these coins was considerable, many of them were destroyed by the Soviet occupation of Lithuania. Today, this coin is therefore quite rare and highly prized by collectors. Coin design by Juozas Zikaras.
