Obverse: The obverse of the coin features a detail from the painting The Apparition of Saint Marinus. This artwork, painted by Emilio Retrosi in 1894, decorates the hall of the San Marino Parliament. The coin shows the scene where Saint Marinus holds an open book in his left hand. In the original painting, the book cover bears the Latin inscription Relinquo vos liberos ab utroque homine (I leave you free from any authority). These were the last words of Saint Marinus, meant to inspire the people of San Marino with the spirit of freedom. The left side of the coin bears the country name San Marino, and the right side shows the year of issue, 2025.
Reverse: Standard 50 euro cent denomination.
