Obverse: The obverse features a stylized heraldic eagle, the national symbol of Germany, and the date "2023" below. Above the bird is engraved the name of the country "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND" and the denomination of the coin "5 EURO". The 12 stars of the European Union are engraved at the bottom of the reverse.
Reverse: The reverse features a colored dragonfly and its name in German "GEBÄNDERTE PRACHTLIBELLE".
About the coin: The €5 coin "GEBÄNDERTE PRACHTLIBELLE" is the fifth edition of the "Wunderwelt Insekten" (Wonderful World of Insects) series and the fourth €5 collector's coin minted in 2023. This series, which began in 2022, will end in 2024. A total of nine coins with partially colored motifs were issued. A series of 5 euro coins is dedicated to a special group of animals - insects. Insects form a significant part of our natural heritage.
