Obverse: The Lithuanian writer, Democrat and educator Žemaitė (Julija Beniuševičiūtė-Žymantienė) is portrayed on the banknote. The inscription "LIETUVOS BANKAS" (eng. Bank of Lithuania) at the top of the banknote, at the bottom of the banknote denomination "VIENAS LITAS" (eng. One litas), on the left side of the banknote, at the top is banknote printed year "1994", below are the signatures of the Finance Minister and the Chairman of the Bank of Lithuania. On the right side is a unique banknote number.
Reverse: The center represents the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania - Vytis, on the left side of the banknote is Paluse church and bell tower ensemble in ethnographic district in Aukštaitija.
