Obverse: The obverse of the coin artistically depicts the history of the city: in the center is Gediminas Castle, around which the life of the city revolves, with a kaleidoscopic arrangement of various building images and the year of the city's founding – 1323. The view is composed as if seen from a bird's eye view. Below is the inscription "LIETUVA," the denomination "10€," the year 2023. Also included is the logo of the coin's manufacturer, UAB Lithuanian Mint.
Reverse: The artistic depiction of the legend of Vilnius' founding: according to the legend, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Gediminas, after a hunt, dreamed of an iron wolf howling so loudly that the water in the Neris River rippled. The priest Lizdeika explained to Gediminas that a city would be built in that place, whose fame would spread throughout the world. The composition is surrounded by the inscriptions "VILNIUS," "700," and the initials of the author.
