Obverse: features one of Lithuania’s most famous literary classics – Žemaitė (Julija Beniuševičiūtė-Žymantienė). To the left of her portrait are the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania. At the top left corner are the printing years 1994. The inscription at the top reads LITHUANIAN BANK, with the denomination ONE LITAS at the bottom.
Reverse: depicts the church and bell tower in Palūšė village, located in the eastern Aukštaitija region, symbolizing Lithuanian architectural and cultural heritage. The Lithuanian state coat of arms is on the right. The denomination ONE LITAS is at the bottom.
About the banknote: issued in 1994, the 1 litas banknote was among the first currency notes of restored independent Lithuania. This banknote is especially valuable for its artistic merit and historical significance. Uncut means the banknotes are in their original, uncut sheet form, where two banknotes remain joined, significantly increasing their collector’s value.
