Obverse: The obverse features an ancient Lithuanian coin from the late 14th century, with the Knight at its center – a symbol of the Grand Duke and the state’s coat of arms. Above, in a semicircle, is the inscription “LIETUVA,” below is “50 LITŲ,” and on the left side, “2005.”
Reverse: The reverse depicts the hillfort of Kernavė – the political, administrative, and defense center of Lithuania from the 13th–14th centuries. Above is the inscription “KERNAVĖ,” and below is “UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE.”
