About the coin: this silver dollar was issued in 1988 to commemorate the Seoul Summer Olympic Games. Obverse by Patricia Lewis Verani, reverse by Sherl Joseph Winter. Proof versions were struck at San Francisco (S), uncirculated at Denver (D). The maximum authorized mintage was 10 million, but final production reached about 1.55 million coins. Distributed individually, in two-coin sets (silver and gold), and in four-coin sets containing all versions. Composition – 90% silver and 10% copper, actual silver weight 24.05 g, total weight 26.73 g, diameter 38.1 mm, reeded edge.
