About the coin: The Royal Alcázar of Seville is a historic royal palace, originally an Islamic citadel, dating back to 1248. After the Castilian conquest of the city, the palace was reconstructed, including the sumptuous Mudéjar-style architecture that was built in 1360 commissioned by Pedro I. This architectural masterpiece combines Mudéjar, Gothic and Renaissance influences. Today, parts of the Alcázar are still used by the royal family when they visit Seville. Since 1987 The palace was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
