About the coin: €2 coin dedicated to the Old Town of Caceres, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1986, Caseres has a well-preserved historic old town that is extremely unique and illustrates the changes in different cultures. Its origins date back to the Roman, Visigothic, Islamic, Gothic and Renaissance periods, including the old Jewish quarter in what is now Barrio de San Antonio. This ensemble consists of a stone enclosure of Almohad origin, about 1200 m long, often hidden behind buildings of a later period. This is the 14th commemorative coin dedicated to a UNESCO World Heritage Site..
