Obverse: The national side of the euro coins in the set features the Lithuanian coat of arms – the Vytis, surrounded by the twelve stars of the European Union. The obverse design was created by Antanas Žukauskas. The coins bear the year of issue “2026”, and the overall design corresponds to the national side of Lithuanian euro coins in circulation.
Reverse: The reverses display the common euro coin design used across all euro area countries – a map of Europe and the denominations, symbolising European unity and the common currency.
About the set: The 2026 Lithuanian BU euro coin set “Resistance Movement” is dedicated to Lithuania’s armed and unarmed resistance against occupying regimes. The theme commemorates the historical events of the mid-20th century, the partisan movement, and the determination of society to fight for freedom and statehood.
The BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) quality set is characterised by exceptional surface quality and brilliance – the coins have not been in circulation and are intended for collectors. The set was issued by the Bank of Lithuania (Lietuvos bankas) and is presented in a representative folder with a thematic design and an informational insert explaining the historical context of the resistance movement.
