About the coin: the 1 dollar silver coin was struck in 1987 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution. Designed by engraver Patricia Lewis Verani. Minted in Philadelphia (P) and San Francisco (S). The maximum authorized mintage was 10 million, but actual sales exceeded 3 million coins. The coins were issued individually and in two-coin or four-coin sets. Composition – 90% silver, actual silver weight 24.05 g, total weight 26.73 g, diameter 38.1 mm, reeded edge.
