Obverse: the denomination '1 CENTAS' is inscribed on both sides of the coin in the centre of the coin, decorated with the denomination 1 on a stem of flowering flax. Reverse: the coat of arms of the State - Vytis, below it the Pillars of St. Gediminas, below them the year of minting '1925', the inscription 'Republic of Lithuania' on the edges.
About the coin: 20 June 1924. On 20 June 1924, the Seimas adopted the Coinage Law, which granted the State Treasury the exclusive right to mint and put into circulation aluminium bronze, silver and gold coins. The contract for the minting of bronze coins was signed with the Birmingham firm King's Norton Metal Works. The first Lithuanian cent coins appeared in circulation in 1925 and their plaster models were created by sculptor Juozas Zikaras.
