Obverse: Features Liberty holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. Rays of the rising sun appear in the background, with the inscription “LIBERTY” above and the year “2006” together with the West Point Mint “W” mintmark to the right. The design is based on the famous work by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
Reverse: Features a family of American bald eagles – a male eagle carrying an olive branch flies above a female and eaglets in their nest. The inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, “IN GOD WE TRUST”, the face value “25 DOLLARS” and the gold content “1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD” surround the design.
