Reverse: the reverse of the coin depicts the muzzle of the Koala. The coin features a snout on the top of the coin with the words 'AUSTRALIAN KOALA', the year of minting, the weight of the coin and the purity of the silver at the bottom of the coin with '2014 1 KILO 999 SILVER'. On the reverse, we can also see the engraved letter "P" which is the mintmark of The Perth Mint in Australia.
Obverse: the obverse of the coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II (Australia is a constitutional monarchy under which Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is also Queen of Australia). The name of the monarch 'ELIZABETH II' and the name of the State 'AUSTRALIA' are engraved around the coin, with the denomination '30 DOLLARS' at the bottom.
