Portugal Euro coin set! Portugal euro coin set consisting of eight coins from 1 cent to 2 euros. In 2002, all the countries in the euro area at that time killed their first euro coins!
Obverse: Three different euro designs were selected from national entries. The contest was won by designer Vítor Manuel Fernandes dos Santos, who inspired his historical symbols and the seals of the first King of Portugal, Dom Afonso Henriques: the castles and coats of arms of the country depicted on the 1 and 2 euro coins were placed in European stars. It symbolizes dialogue, the exchange of values and the dynamics of European creation. The central element is the 1144 Royal Seal. 10, 20 and 50-cent coins depict the royal seal of 1142 as the main design element. The 1, 2 and 5-cent coins have the image of the first royal seal since 1134, together with the inscription "PORTUGAL".
