Obverse: The national side of the coin depicts one of the best-known works by Finnish architects Raili and Reima Pietilä – the “Dipoli” building located at Aalto University. Its flowing, organic forms reflect the characteristic relationship between architecture and nature found in the Pietiläs’ work. A stylised tree appears on the right side of the composition. At the top is the inscription “RAILI REIMA PIETILÄ”; on the left are the initials “FI” representing Finland, the year of issue “2026” and the mintmark. The designer’s initial “R” appears in the lower right. Twelve stars of the European Union are arranged around the coin’s outer ring.
Reverse: The reverse features the standard common-side design of the 2 euro coin. The denomination “2” is prominently displayed on the left, with the inscription “EURO” beside it, while a map of Europe appears in the background. The composition is complemented by vertical lines and twelve stars of the European Union. The common-side design of the euro coins was created by Luc Luycx.

The coin has a face value of 2 euros, weighs 8.5 g and has a diameter of 25.75 mm. The edge bears the inscription “SUOMI FINLAND” and three heraldic Finnish lions.
