Reverse: The reverse depicts a baby elephant and an adult elephant protecting it. Above, in a semicircle, is the inscription PROTECCION DE LA NATURALEZA AFRICANA (Protection of African Nature), followed by ENDANGERED WILDLIFE, and at the bottom is the denomination 7000 FRANCOS.
About the coin: This collector's silver coin is part of the "Protection of African Nature" series. The African elephant depicted on the reverse is a species of elephant found in Africa south of the Sahara. It is one of the three remaining elephant species and, together with the forest elephants, one of the two surviving African elephant species. It is the largest living land animal.
