Obverse: profile of Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg. Around the lower part of the image are the inscriptions 'JEAN GRAND-DUC DE LUXEMBOURG'.
Reverse: the upper part of the circle depicts the strophe of the 'Hémecht' (national anthem), the lower part the American and Luxembourg flags. The upper part of the rim is decorated with rays centred on the denomination '500 F'. The lower part of the border contains a legend with the dates of commemoration.
