Reverse: an historical depiction of the gold coin from the reign of Philippe le Bel is recreated – the king is shown in a majestic posture, surrounded by Gothic-style ornaments and inscriptions. This XIII-century numismatic imagery is revived in a modern silver collector coin.

The 2019 ten-euro coin is struck in billon alloy containing 33.3% silver, giving it roughly 5.66 g of pure silver.
