Obverse: depicted the last emperor of the Russian Empire Nicholas II, who ruled the Russian Empire from 1894 to 1917, around the Emperor inscription "Б.М. НИКОЛАЙ II ИМПЕРАТОРЪ И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОСС" (eng. By God's grace Nikolai II Emperor and Emperor of All Russia).
Reverse: the coat of arms of the Russian Empire - a crowned double-headed eagle with monarchic symbols, is depicted on the eagle, and in the wings of the coat of arms, the denomination of the reverse and the year of the coin are minted in the bottom "10 РУБЛЕЙ" (eng. 10 rubles).
Edge: the inscription "1 ЗОЛОТНИК 78,24 ДОЛИ ЧИСТОГО ЗОЛОТА" (eng. pure gold 1 zolotnik 78,24 parts) also at the edge of each coin are minted letters "АГ", "ФЗ", "АР"or "ЭБ" which means initials of the master of mint АГ – Apollon Grasgof, ФЗ – Felix Zaleman, АР – Alexander Redko, and ЭБ – Elikum Babayants.
