Obverse: head of an older Andrea Palladio, inserted in a composition with architectural elements (at high left) and instruments of his work (at lower right): compass, square and protractor. Name of the author at right.
Reverse: architectural plan of Villa Capria also called "La Rotonda", symbol of Palladian genius and his greater masterpiece. Inside the plan are the value, the mintmark, the logo of "Europe Coin Programme". Above the plan is the prospectus of the Villa with dates of the anniversary at both sides.
About the coin: this coin belongs to the Europe Star program (5th edition), which reflects the most prominent cultural, scientific and artistic personalities, such as the architect Andrea Palladio. The coin was issued to commemorate the architect's 500th birthday.
