Obverse: the coin depicts the goddess of ancient Roman agriculture Ceres, around the name of the state "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE". At the top of the coin is a minted six-sided star. On the bottom of the coin, on the left-hand side is minted the hand of justice, on the right - laurel leaf twig. The bottom of the coin is also the initials of the coin engraver "L. MERLEY. F".
Reverse: the centre features a coin denomination "10 FRANCS" decorated with a crown of laurel and oak leaves, the words "LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE" (eng. Liberty, Equality, Fraternity). In the bottom of the coin is year of the coin and letter which is mint mark.
