Obverse: The obverse of the coin depicts a shield of Clay Chiwoo Cheonwang. The year and the fineness of the coin "2018 FINE GOLD 999" are engraved on the left side. The word "REPUBLIC OF KOREA" is engraved on the top of the coin, above the denomination, and the denomination "1 CLAY" is engraved on the right-hand side of the coin. At the bottom under the panel is the mark of the South Korean Mint.
Reverse: The reverse of the coin depicts the legendary Chinese and Korean character Chiwoo Cheonwang, a character in folklore. The words "CHIWOO CHEONWANG" are engraved on the left edge of the coin.
