The Chinese Golden Panda was first minted by the Central Bank of China in 1983 and introduced as a legal tender. For the first three years of mintage, this coin had a limited circulation of 10,000 pieces. per year. This coin changes its design every year, only in 2002. the design did not change and was used in 2001. This coin is minted in three Chinese mints, namely Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Shenyang. However, in contrast to the mints' practices in other countries, mintmarks are not minted on such coins. Instead, different mints make small design differences between their minted coins, such as font size, bamboo forest size, and minimal design differences for the Temple of Paradise.
