Obverse: the obverse of the coins features the harp – the national symbol of Ireland. The issue year 2007 is also indicated.
Reverse: the reverse of the coins depicts four intertwined figures whose hands join in the center in a cross shape. The other hands hold objects that symbolize Ireland’s cultural influence in the past and present: a book, a violin, a spade, and a laptop.
About the coins: these 10 euro .925 silver and 20 euro .999 gold coins were minted by B. H. Mayer Kunstprageanstalt in Germany as part of the "Europa Coin Programme" – an initiative aimed at promoting the creation of legal tender coins from precious metals across various EU countries. Both coins were designed by sculptor Mary Gregoriy. The design reflects Ireland’s Celtic culture and its impact on Europe.
