Obverse: a front view of Stockholm City Hall, Ragnar Östberg's architectural masterpiece, opened in 1923. The name of the city and the year 'STOCKHOLM 1252 - 2002' are engraved above the Town Hall.
Reverse: in the centre of the reverse, the oldest image of the seal of Stockholm is embossed. The seal shows a wall with two towers. On the outside, around the edge, the denomination '2000 KRONOR' and the letters 'E' and 'B' (the 'E' stands for the place of minting, Eskilstuna, and the 'B' for the first letter of the surname of the Governor of the Riksbank).
