Obverse: depicted the last emperor of the Russian Empire Nicholas II, who ruled the Russian Empire from 1894 to 1917, around the Emperor inscription "Б.М. НИКОЛАЙ II ИМПЕРАТОРЪ И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОСС" (eng. By God's grace Nikolai II Emperor and Autocrat of All Russia).
Reverse: the coat of arms of the Russian Empire - a crowned double-headed eagle in its nail with monarchic symbols, is depicted on the eagle's chest of St. George, and in the wings of the coat of arms, the denomination of the reverse and the year of the coin are minted in the bottom of the coin "15 РУБЛЕЙ" (eng. 15 rubles).
Edge: the inscription "ЧИСТАГО ЗОЛОТА 2 ЗОЛОТНИКА 69.36 ДОЛЕЙ ( А • Г )" (eng. pure gold 2 zolotnik 69,36 parts) also at the edge are minted letters А • Г this letters represent the initials of the mint master Apollon Grasgof.
