About the coin: this gold coin is dedicated to Easter Island (Rapa Nui), a remote island in the Pacific Ocean belonging to Chile. The island is renowned worldwide for its impressive moai statues – giant stone figures created by the native Polynesian inhabitants between the 13th and 16th centuries. Approximately 900 moai survive today and are considered among the most mysterious cultural monuments in human history. In 1995, Rapa Nui National Park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
