Reverse: The reverse of the coin depicts Scott Base, a New Zealand Antarctic research station located in Antarctica. At the bottom, the logo of the organization "International Polar Year", separated by the years "2007" and "2008". The denomination is engraved on the side of the coin. The words and year "INTERNATIONAL POLAR YEAR SCOTT-BASE 1957-2007" are engraved on the top of the coin in a semicircle.
