Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts a Monkey squatting on a branch, with the word "Monkey Year" engraved in Chinese on the left-hand side of the coin and the word "Year of the Monkey" engraved in English on the bottom of the coin. The letter “P” is also engraved on the left side of the coin, symbolizing the Australian Perth Mint.
Reverse: the reverse of the coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II, who is also the Monarch of Australia. The words "ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA" are engraved on the top of the coin and "1/10 oz 9999 GOLD 2016 15 DOLLARS" on the bottom of the coin.
About the coin: the Perth Mint of Australia minted a coin dedicated to the Chinese lunar calendar (Lunar) marks every year. This Chinese calendar has been mentioned since 2600. before our era and to this day is still believed in the power that the animal sign bears to the personalities born after it.
