The inscription "GROUSSHEZOGE VU LËTZEBUERG GUILLAUME II 1792 – 1843" is engraved at the top, the date of issue of the coin is at the bottom. Mint and engraver's mark on right, engraver's initials "CP" below. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European Union.
Reverse: The reverse of the coin shows the denomination of 2 euros and depicts a map of Europe.
