Above the cathedral, a stylized ray of light symbolizes hope and rebirth following the 2019 fire. On the right side appears the inscription “NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS”, while the left side includes the year “2025” and the monogram “RF” (République Française). Twelve stars representing the founding countries of the European Union are arranged on the outer ring.
Reverse: the reverse shows the standard design of all €2 coins: a map of Western Europe spanning the inner and outer parts of the coin. At the top is the inscription 2 EURO, and the number 2 is integrated into the Atlantic Ocean relief. The outer ring displays 12 stars symbolising European unity.
