About the coin: 2 euro commemorative coin is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the restoration of the Sistine Chapel. The restoration of murals in the Sistine Chapel was one of the most important in the 20th century. It was built by Pope Sistine IV in the Vatican property, just north of St. Peter's Basilica, and was completed around 1481. The walls of the chapel were adorned by numerous Italian Renaissance painters of the late 15th century, such as Ghirlandaio, Perugino and Boticcelli.
