Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts the sower, the symbol of the French Republic, a young woman wearing a Phrygian cap sowing seeds at sunrise. Around her are 12 stars. Inside, the year '2010' and the mintmark 'RF'.
Reverse: the reverse of the coin shows wheat and olive branches. Around the coin, in a semicircle, is an inscription indicating the occasion of the issue: 'cinquantième Anniversaire du nouveau franc' (50th anniversary of the new franc). The year '1960-2010' is shown next to the anniversary. The denomination of the coin on the back is '50 EURO'.
