Obverse: an image of King Oscar II surrounded by the inscription 'OSCAR II NORGES o. SVER. CONGE * BRODERFOLKENES VEL' (lit. Oscar II, King of Novergia and Sweden. Welfare of the Brotherly Nations).
Reverse: minted coat of arms in the centre of the reverse. The numeral '5' on the left and 'Sp' on the right indicate the denomination of the coin. The value in kroner is indicated at the top with '20 KRONER' and the year and mintmark at the bottom.
