Obverse: The obverse features an uncrowned portrait of King George V facing left. Around it is the inscription GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX B.M. (meaning George the Fifth, by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains). The portrait was designed by Edgar Bertram MacKennal.
Reverse: In the center is the letter G, surrounded by crowned sceptres arranged in a cross shape, with the shields of England, Scotland, and Ireland in the angles. Above is the legend FID·DEF IND·IMP (meaning Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India), and below are the year of issue and the denomination ONE FLORIN.
