Obverse: the obverse shows Helvetia in the center of the coin wearing a toga, holding a spear in her right hand and holding the shield of the Swiss coat of arms in her left hand. Around her are 22 stars representing the 22 cantons of the Swiss Confederation.
Reverse: The reverse of the coin shows a wreath of oak and rose branches, tied at the bottom with a ribbon. In the center, the denomination '1 Fr.' is embossed, and the year of issue.
