Obverse: the coin is struck with the Mexican coat of arms in the centre of the obverse. The bottom of the coin bears the inscription 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS' (United Mexican States).
Reverse: centre of the reverse with a football, the denomination '$100' and the symbol of the football World Cup. The upper part of the coin bears the inscription 'COPA MUNDIAL DE FUTBOL' and the lower part the logo of the Mexican Football World Cup, 'México86', and the year of issue '1986'.
